Christmas Baked Goodies

Happy New Year Lovely Bloggers!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas & New Year?
I know its been a couple of weeks now since Christmas but I have been so busy trying to get my wedding planning back on track. I have only just remembered to post my Christmas baking achievements, so here goes...

Christmas Biscuits
Before Christmas I made these yummy Shortbread Biscuits in the shapes of stars and Christmas trees for all the family as part of their Christmas presents. They were really easy to make and my lovely Fiance helped me decorate them - who would have thought he would be good a decorating biscuits, I actually think he was a bit better than me, but we won't tell him that! I then packed 6 biscuits into each box with a gift label on and there you have it my/our Christmas Shortbread Biscuits. x

Next up..........

Homemade Mince Pies
We all went to my Mum's new bungalow for Christmas this year, So my contribution was these delicious homemade mince pies... OK OK I did cheat a little I made them from ready rolled pastry and mince meat from a Jar, but in my defence I had so much to do before Christmas day, I didn't have the time or the patience to make them from scratch. They still tasted just as good though and looked fab with their star tops. mmm I could actually eat one of them right now....yum!

and Finally....

My Mum's New Years Birthday Cake
It was my Mum's Birthday on New Years Eve and I wanted to treat her to lunch and then afternoon tea at mine. So my Mum was joined by me, Jamie (the Fiance) My sister, Dave, My Dad & my Auntie Sue for a lovely lunch in a little pub called the Cross Keys in Totternhoe. This pub was so cute and sold amazing paintings by a local artist who lived next door. I loved one of her paintings so much my mum bought me an amazing zebra one for my birthday this month...watch this space and I will post a photo when I receive it from my mum... Thanks Mum :)
Anyway after lunch everyone came back to our flat for afternoon tea, which meant I got a chance to use my tea set given to me by my Mum who inherited it from my Great Auntie Nan and my Cake stand which I got in the bargain bin at Ikea..Result!
The cake I made for my Mum is lemon cake (as she loves lemon flavoured desserts) even the butter cream icing was lemon flavoured and sandwiched with lemon curd. I can happily say she liked it, so I am sure I will be making it again. One day I hope to take after my Grandma Rees and make Cakes as good as this......

Wasn't she good? wish I had learnt from her when I was younger. x

* Handmade Christmas Stockings *

My FiancĂ© & I are a bit short of money this Christmas (I'm sure we are all feeling the pinch this year!) and we are frantically saving for our wedding next year, which is becoming increasingly expensive... eeek! Anyway to save us some money we decided we wouldn't buy each other any big presents and instead just give small gifts in a Christmas stocking. Neither of us owned a stocking and I didn't like any I saw in the shops so decided to make our own personalised stockings out of calico and red felt. I am very pleased with the end result and hopefully they will stay with us for many years. Now all I have to do is fill Jamie's stocking with gifts. x

Night Shades Lace Belt

This "Night Shades" lace belt is made from Black lace with a bit of gold shimmer and with the added Gold buttons and brooches it has a bit of an antique feel to it. This would go great with a little black dress for any of your Christmas events. x

Twinkled Crochet Bags

I have had these Gold & Black crochet bags for a while now and I just didn't know what to do with them, they just looked quite boring. So I decided to jazz them up a bit with the use of some ribbon & bows and added some ribbon straps. They look much better now and are perfect to use on a night out. x

Black & Gold Lace Top

This is the newest addition to my embellished tops, using black & gold lace with gold buttons and beads. Ideal for jazzing up any jean & t-shirt combo and can be worn from day into evening with a pair of black or gold heels... Fab x

Lost Treasures & Dew Drops Charm Bracelets

My Charm Bracelets sold out at my Tea Party back in April, so I have made a couple more to sell for Christmas. The bracelet above is called the "Lost Treasures" charm Bracelet because I have made it from lots of individual charms and pendants that I have collected from other reclaimed jewellery all attached to a gold chain.

The second charm Bracelet that I have made recently is the "Dew Drops" charm bracelet, this is also made from lots of individual charms that have been collected from reclaimed jewellery in blue & green tones on a silver chain. x

Glinting Glamour Clutch Bag

My leather clutch bags have become quite popular, So I have made one more to add to the collection. This one is made from a fuchsia colour soft gloving leather with gold & silver leather trims. it is lined with a pretty printed cotton in fuchsia, blues & ivory. Great for Christmas Parties. x

Hidden Treasures Heart Necklace

This antique bronze "Hidden Treasures Heart" necklace is the last of my new necklaces for the Christmas Stall.
I have made it from a bronze heart pendant with hot pink ribbon and hot pink charms, a very girly accessory :) x

Hearts of Stone Necklace

New for the Christmas market, this handmade & one of a kind "Hearts of Stone" necklace, made from 3 different heart pendants that I have collected from various places and a pretty little bow, all threaded on a silver chain. I think what makes this necklace special is that I'm sure these hearts from various places all have a different story to tell, who knows! x

Queen of Bows Necklace

I have a Christmas market coming up on 18th December at Berkamsted, my first big Christmas market so I have made a few more items to bulk out my stall. The first of which is this "Queens of Bows" necklace made from an old crown brooch I collected on my travels, I added a pretty polka dot bow and added it to a silver chain and vouloir here is my "Queen of Bows" necklace. I'm almost tempted to keep it for myself! x

Pearly Princess Necklace

I have neglected my Blog for many months :( it seems I have had other things on my mind since getting engaged! :) Wedding planning has been keeping me very busy, but I am at the exciting stage of actually designing and making all the decorations and accessories now. I will post some Photos after the Big day in 8 months time!

Anyway I finally got round to making something new, for my friend Helen's birthday in October. I made her this pretty "Pearly Princess" necklace, with pearls and other charms and presented it in a pretty box with the Emma Elizabeth Logo on. x

Wedding Bells!

Just to update you all, I am now happily engaged to my boyfriend of 9 years :) He proposed to me back in March at Luton Hoo. I am so happy and very excited about planning the big day.... we have already booked our venue in suffolk by the sea (always wanted a sea side wedding) for next summer and I have found and ordered my perfect princess dress :) so much more still to do, but I plan to make a lot of the accessories, decorations and invitations myself so it's all good fun. I'm sure I will keep you up to date with all the plans and the items I have been making.

This will probably take up a lot of my time now, so Im going to stop doing markets for a while and put all my Emma Elizabeth designs on Etsy and/or Folksy for sale.... So watch this space for my online store. x

Custom Made Gorgeous Leather Clutch Bags

After my very successful Tea Party in April, I got a couple of orders to make some Leather clutch bags to match a couple of ladies outfits they had for a wedding. At this time I had run out of leather, however it gave me an excuse to go Shopping in London :) I found some beautiful soft gloving leather on a stall at portobello market, which sold lots of different colours. So I am now stocked up on gorgeous leather to make plenty more beautiful bags :)

The first bag I made in a fushia pink colour with purple tones & a fab printed lining. This was made to match a fascinator that was also brought from me :)

The second bag was made to match some nude colour shoes. The lady that requested it really loved my patchwork leather clutch bag which I made last year, So I based my design on this. Hopefully it complimented her outfit beautifully.
More unique leather clutch bags to come...... watch this space.x
